Elevate Internet Youth Grant

Elevate’s Foundations for the Future Grant was created to support non-profit and not- for-profit organizations that directly impact the quality of life for children in our local communities in a positive way. Funds can be used to support programs, services, and resources for youth ages 18 and under. Small-scale capital facility improvements or offerings, less than $100,000, are also eligible. Successful applications can focus on the areas of arts, science, other areas of education, health/wellness, safety, or basic needs. Additional priority points will be given for the use of technology to create a lasting benefit for children. Long-term positive impact and demonstrable success is required.

Amount to be awarded:

  • 6 grants
  • $10,000 each

Timeline:

  • Application period: April 3 – June 30
  • Review period: July 3 – July 31
  • Awards announced: International Youth Day, August 12

Eligible applicants must:

  • Have a physical location or be headquartered within the footprint of Delta- Montrose Electric Association (city of Delta also included) – view map here
  • Be a non-profit or not-for-profit organization
  • Have a proven track record of improving the lives of local children
  • Prove long-term impact by identifying how the organization/program sets children up for future success
  • Be able to quantify their impact on the quality of life for local children
  • Not have been funded by DMEA/Elevate in the past two years for $5,000 or more (cumulative)

What this grant is not for:

  • Event sponsorships
  • Large-scale capital facility campaigns ( >$100,000)
  • Political or religiously affiliated organizations
  • Private, competitive, and school-funded sports teams
  • For profit & private businesses
  • Start-up organizations
  • Organizational operational costs
  • Travel costs
  • Educational scholarships

To Elevate, improving the quality of life means:

  • Providing enhanced learning or cultural opportunities to children that they may not get otherwise
  • Providing access to services and resources that create joy, fulfillment, and development for children
  • Identifying needs for local youth within the community and successfully meeting those needs
  • Offering programs and services that change the trajectory of a child’s life in a good way
  • Broadening a child’s worldview through access and experiences
  • Making things better for our children today, tomorrow, and the generations to come
