Bill Assistance for Qualifying Individuals
Affordable Connectivity Program and Lifeline discounts up to $39.25 per month
May 19, 2022 - Two government assistance programs, Lifeline and the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP), are now available to help cover the cost of Elevate services. Eligible low-income households can apply to receive federal benefits up to $39.25 per month off internet service.
The Federal Communications Commission established the ACP in 2022 to support internet connectivity in low-income households. The ACP discount is available for eligible residential internet customers only, and program participants will receive a monthly credit of $30 on their Elevate bill.
Lifeline is funded through the Universal Service Fund, and it also provides discounted internet service to consumers that meet income-based requirements. Like ACP, the Lifeline discount is available for eligible residential internet customers only, and program participants will receive a monthly credit of $9.25 on their Elevate bill.
“By participating in these programs, Elevate can now help ensure all community members have access to high-speed internet, regardless of their personal financial situation,” said Kent Blackwell, Elevate Chief Technology Officer.
Qualifying for Lifeline benefits automatically qualifies individuals for ACP benefits. Qualification is issued per household, not per person, and the benefits can be applied to phone or internet service, but not both. Lifeline benefits are non-transferable.
