Free internet services for qualifying MCSD families

October 24, 2022 – Elevate Internet and the Montrose County School District (MCSD) have again partnered to provide high-speed internet to some of the district's most underserved families. Free high-speed internet service from Elevate is available for families with an MCSD student in the home who qualifies for free and reduced lunch.

"For our future generations to succeed, equitable access to basic resources like high-speed internet is essential. We're proud to work with the Montrose County School District to ensure as many families as possible have access to fast and reliable internet," said Kent Blackwell, DMEA Interim CEO and Chief Technology Officer.

Through the program, qualifying families will receive free 150 megabits per second (Mbps) internet service from Elevate through May 31, 2023. Service installation is also provided free of charge. Families currently eligible for the district's free and reduced price meal program can sign up now through the following steps:

  • Visit elevateinternet.com/mcsdfund to select services and complete Elevate's service agreement.
  • Applicants must provide proof of free and reduced price meal participation. Documentation is available on MCSD’s Parent Portal or through MCSD Nutritional Services at 970-252-7918
  • An Elevate representative will contact participants to schedule an installation date.
  • Participants will receive a free installation plus free internet service through May 31, 2023.

“Internet is no longer a luxury, but is now essential to most facets of our lives, learning especially. This program will better prepare students for success through improved connectivity, and we are proud to partner with Elevate to provide this assistance to Montrose County School District families,” said Dr. Carrie Stephenson, MCSD Superintendent.
