Elevate, Horsefly Team up for Community Info Night

October 31, 2017

October 31, 2017 – Elevate Internet and Horsefly are once again teaming up to help bring gigabit internet to more neighborhoods in Montrose. This Friday, November 3, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., the pair is hosting the Elevate Brew Info Night at the Brew and Bogey at Black Canyon Golf Course. The free event includes samples of Elevate’s Basecamp Blonde and Summit Ale, which took top honors at the 2017 Montrose Oktoberfest. There will also be live music, appetizers, and a team of people ready to answer questions about fiber internet and help the community sign up.

“Elevate wouldn’t be where it is today without the support of community members. We are so thankful that Phil and Melanie at Horsefly came on board to help. Not only did they help us find a really unique way to get our name out there, but their support represents exactly what Elevate is all about: the people and places in our communities. Step by step we’re bringing an essential service to DMEA members,” said Becky Mashburn, DMEA Marketing Supervisor.

A full lineup of Elevate Fiber representatives will be at the event ready to answer questions, update community members about the construction process, and help people sign up. Elevate’s 1 Gig network will also be up and running so attendees can log on with their devices and test out the WiFi network.

“We encourage anyone who has questions about Elevate to come on down to the event. We’ll have equipment available for people to check out and a live demo of Elevate’s WiFi. It’s also a great opportunity for local business owners to chat face-to-face with our business specialist, all while enjoying a good beer and great food,” said Mashburn.

About Elevate: Elevate is building first in communities that have shown the most interest by preregistering at join.elevatefiber.com. There is no cost to preregistering for service, and doing so secures the $100 installation special. Home and business installations are currently taking place in multiple zones. Residents and businesses in these zones are encouraged to sign up for service: Call 877-687-3632, visit join.elevatefiber.com, or stop by a local DMEA office during normal business hours. The following zones have live service from Elevate:

  • Paonia 45
  • Orchard City 104
  • Montrose 721
  • Paonia 47
  • Hotchkiss 48
  • Cedaredge 125
  • Montrose 418
  • Montrose 425

Many more neighborhoods in Montrose could also see fiber soon if the momentum continues. Five zones, in particular, are already more than halfway to their preregistration goals:

  • Montrose 813: 74% to goal; 187 more preregistrations needed
  • Montrose 427: 74% to goal; 28 more preregistrations needed
  • Montrose 417: 72% to goal; 19 more preregistrations needed
  • Montrose 426: 67% to goal; 26 more preregistrations needed
  • Montrose 415: 51% to goal; 99 more preregistrations needed

All areas within Delta-Montrose Electric Association’s (DMEA) service territory are included in an Elevate zone and can be found at join.elevatefiber.com. As the zones reach their preregistration goal, Elevate releases them for final design and construction. On average, it takes four to six months to complete a full build-out of a zone.

Individuals can stay updated by following Elevate’s blog in the updates section at join.elevatefiber.com, following them on Facebook, or stopping into the Customer Experience Center at the DMEA Montrose Office.

Elevate Fiber is a wholly owned internet subsidiary of DMEA, building a fiber network to DMEA’s service territory. Service offerings at this time include a 100 Mbps (megabits per second) internet option, and 1 Gig (1,000 Mbps) internet option. Elevate also offers a voice (phone) option and is exploring a future video (TV) offering that will bring local channels and streaming solutions to members at a lower price compared to traditional cable/dish offerings.
