Elevate Internet Aggressively Rolling Out to More Rural Areas

First of more than 5,000 additional homes now have fiber internet

JANUARY 30, 2023 (MONTROSE, DELTA COUNTIES, COLO) – More than 70 rural farms and homes in Shavano Valley, west of Montrose, received the good news last week that Elevate Internet was available. Residents in the valley are the first of approximately 5,000 rural dwellings to which Elevate is building out its fiber-optic network over the next year and a half.

“We’re committed to bringing the fastest and most reliable internet in the nation to every corner of our service territory, no matter how rural. With four major grants secured, our construction pipeline is full, and we’ll be building more than 560 miles of fiber over the next 18 months. I know that doesn’t necessarily make the wait any easier – but I promise, we’re coming,” said Jack Johnston, Elevate President.

Over the past few years, Elevate Internet has secured approximately $35 million in state and federal grants to bring high-speed internet to many of the unserved rural areas in Montrose and Delta Counties. The local fiber broadband company started construction in the Greater Gunnison Gorge grant area in December 2022, which includes the rural portions of eastern and western Montrose County. Shavano Valley was the first to receive service, and residents in northern Spring Creek are expected to have access by the end of February. Work is simultaneously underway in Elevate’s other grant area, which includes the countryside west of Olathe and Delta, including Pea Green.

“The progress we’re making this year is significant. Elevate’s commitment to bringing multi-gig, high-speed internet to the most rural reaches of our service territory is absolute. I’m honored to be a part of this last push to close the digital divide between our rural Western Slope communities and the urban front range,” said Johnston.

Consumers can find out if their home or business is located in an area where Elevate is available or an upcoming grant zone by searching their address at www.elevateinternet.com or calling 844-386-8744. Elevate provides internet, TV, and phone for both homes and businesses, with internet speeds starting at 150 Mbps and topping out at 6,000 Mbps (6 Gig).
